Not being rude but why acrylic? It really has no advantages ,IMO, besides the weight factor. It scratches easily. You can get all kinds of shapes which is kinda cool.....

I have one....
scrathes if you look at it wrong
can get the scratches out
i can lift my 125 on my own easily
if you need to add any plumbing it is very easy
The only thing I wish I had a glass tank for is so I could have a completely open top.

Hey choco,
If you are just looking for some input then here are some of my thoughts....
I have two acrylic tanks and love them both... One is a 7.5 gallon cube,(don't know the manufacturer sorry, some plastic company on the west coast)and the other is a 30 Tall made by Sea Clear... setting up another tank soon which will be acrylic as well. I was originally a little aprehensive about acrylic in the beginning due the the whole scratching easily thing. Deal is, I have to be careful and have put a few scratches in both tanks but the beauty is that you can polish them out, rather easily actually. The scratches I have in my glass tanks are there forever!! Acrylic is indeed way way lighter than glass, more optically clear, way stronger. I have had two glass tanks crack due to them not sitting level (won't even start on the level thing, old houses are cool but they got probs, hehe). There is the insulation factor as well, does much better than glass and so on an so on. I do have to say the biggest appeal to me though is the asethics of it all.... It is just way cool to have this uninterrupted view of the inside of the tank, no glass butt joints on the corners with silicone smeared on them, (silicone can degrade and potentially leak not to mention the time one of my cats unbeknownst to me was clawing at the seam on a 75 gallon glass hex, "Honey, why is the floor wet??" ((cat is now declawed!...lol)) Acrylic just looks cool! Oh yeah, no black plastic cross brace shadowing anything....
Okay nuff said, I talk to much!...lol No faithfull glass tank owners jump all over me okay, I have glass tanks TOO! I love them all just kinda partial to the plastic ones *grin*

I have a 35 gal FOWLR. Its great... I have a corner set-up, with a blue background. Its in the corner of my kitchen and looks spectacular. I would not recommend one for a reef though. I don't seem to have a problem with scratches, but there is not enough room for lights under the hood. The hood is hinged, does not work well. Also, I'm always concerned that the lights will melt the acrylic on the top.
Good Luck

I have a 125 acrylic made by truvu. Thhough the access from above is fine I wish I could have the top completely open. Now holes that are about 12*18in or so but there is still a huge peice of plastic right in the middle.

I have had two and there both great, I just purchased a 180 that I'm about to set-up, its a Clarity Plus. I habe absolutely nothing bad to say about them. There is a huge differance in lifting a 180 glass than an acrylic. Alot stronger than glass too!

I have a 80 bow front and a 140, both acrylic. They also are a very good insulator. Maintains temp much better than glass. Scrathes are buffed out easily, and rock slides won't bust the tank open.

125 gal tru vu acrylic. lightweight, strength, and earthquake and kid resistant (4 boys 13,10,7,20 mos) :D <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> except in the scratch area. :( <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

I have a 150 gallon Tenecor acrylic tank. I wish the top could be completely open for easier access, but that's really just me wanting something I don't really need. I have good access through the top holes, it just doesn't allow for any hang-on equipment....no sides to hang it on.
I love the clarity of acrylic over glass, the light weight is great if you need to move it, and scratches are easily buffed out. I've been very careful with mine, stacking and tying down my live rock so that it doesn't fall and create deep scratches. Lights don't seem to be a problem for me, as they are high enough above the tank to not get the top hot.
Honestly, I think I like the way it looks more than anything else. I had a glass tank first, and the acrylic is much nicer looking. I suppose that's a personal preference though.
