Question,
I have two clowns, a bunch of damsels, three feather dusters, 10 hermits, 20 snails (astreas and one margarita), a scooter blenny, and a cleaner shrimp. The only guy I could even think is abusing my fether duster is the shrimp - but I have never read that these things do that.
Any Ideas?

I had the same problem with my clown. After watching them carefully I came to the conclustion that it was the other clown

If I had to guess, I would say the damsels. My clown, and clowns(past tense) have never touched the feather duster. What type of clown? that could be the difference.

I have a Coral banded and have watched him numerous times picking on my Duster. it got to the point where he went into his tube for about a month before he decided to come out again. I am not sure on the differences in characteristics between the Cleaner and the Coral Banded, but that may help.Anyways, He was small but grew back nicely.
Then........
I added a Perc. I have never noticed him ever bothering the Duster at all but out of the blue he lost his crown. So after reading LL206 I have to wonder if the Perc had anything to do with it.I dont think so because as i stated i have NEVER seen him bothering the Duster at all. For the most part i havent really even seen him swimming by the Duster either.
HTH (somewhat),

I would suspect the cleaner shrimp, mine has a ferocious apetite, and when I first got him and was trying to figure out how much to feed him, what his prefs were, I fed him too little at first, and I noticed he would wander around scavenging, and many times my fd would be closed after his pass, I don't think he nipped real hard but none the less, he nipped. The only other fish I've seen nip at them was my coral beauty...and once I figured out his feeding style he didn't do it anymore.... ;)

Folks,
The guilty party is the cleaner shrimp - I have three feather dusters and the closest to the shrimp was the one who got pinched!! In fact his crown fell off yesterday - The other tow are fine. I now feed the shrimp more tnan once a day - twice with seeweed and once with Formula One.
Thanks!!! Watch your cleaner shrimp!!
