Why did my Coral Beauty kick the bucket?

30 Gallon Tank, Rapids Pro System
Temp: 77 Degrees
Ammonia: Clearly 0
Nitrate: Looks like 0 but could be 5.0
pH: 8.3
Nitrite: Clearly 0
SG: 1.023
Water change every 2 weeks.
Tank inhabitants: 1 Cleaner Shrimp, 1 Emerald Crab, 1 False Perc, 1 Bi-color Chromis, 9 Hermies, 25 Lbs Live Rock, 25 Lbs Live Sand
I have had him for a little over a month. It had no signs of stress, grazed off the live rock, ate great at every feeding, and slept in a small cave area, then suddenly died one night which it was eaten pretty quickly by my inverts. I have seen my emerald lunge after the fish and liked the same area the Coral Beauty slept in. Could the Emerald have attacked it? The other thing I am thinking is I have 1 25 watt 50/50 bulb which doesn't grow much on my Live Rock, so the Coral Beauty might not have gotten its required vegetation diet. I feed a mixture of Frozen Emerald Entree and Frozen Omega Brine Shrimp. I test every other day and the water parameters have never been elevated.
Thanks for the help!

Same thing happened to my CB. I attributed it to a temperature spike at the time, but it couldve been random since it only spiked up to 85 and all my other fish were fine. Sometimes this stuff just happens.

angels need a well established tank to thrive. i wouldnt put an angel in a tank established less than 4-6 months. angels also has a special diet which includes sponge and such. u can buy frozen food made for angel at lfs or online.

possibly. but another cause could be the lack fo live rocks. angels need lot of rocks to graze on, and ur 25lbs isnt enough imo.

My Bi-color was aggressive to my Damsel only. I got rid of my Damsel and my Bi-color does not pick on anyone in the tank. The False Perc actually will sometimes chase him when it is feeding time.
Thanks for the info though guys.
