Why did the change the time between searches?

I dunno. I know other boards as a standard rule have a relatively long wait. I don't know if they have had to change this as well.

unless you're zooming from one thread to another like i do you probably wouldn't notice it but i have and it gets a little annoying , esp when it says i have only 3 seconds left have to wait then refresh

Your correct (it went from 10-30), the easiest way to experience the wait message is hit the "new posts" option twice. Unless the Mods don't have the wait feature on the account type. The wait slows down the queries hitting the SQL server. The decrease in volume may be saving some $ and for sure helps reduce server load. Email also cost more $ this may be why they backed off of the instant notify option. I know the email server they use to send the sales out on is still working, but the other stopped on 2-7-07. Not sure if they are the same email servers. I have received 3100 + emails from subscriptions from 3/25/06 - 2/7/07.
