All corals should be temp. acclimated so that they don't go into shock!!!
All corals should also be drip acclimated!

No
you dont have to do either.
All you have to do...take them out let them in the air for about 30sec so they slim up..into the tank they go. Your done. You dont need to do anything else with them. I have NEVER had any coral have a problem with going in the tank that way..From softies to SPS. That dripping crap is for the birds anyway

If only temp acclimating, what do you do to prevent any hitchhikers? especially redbugs, AEFW, or monti eating nudi's???
I always drip acclimate if for no other reason so i can do a dip to keep any parasites out of my display.

well i am only dealing with mushrooms lol, and i remembered seeing on here that it says temp. only on some corals so i just temp acclimated them and put them in there. then when i got on it said one hour and i was like uuggg. but they seem to be doing fine.

I drip acclimate my corals as a precautionary measure to give a chance of freeing my corals of any unwanted hitchhikers (a lot of my corals are attached to some decent-sized LR). I don't know if others do this, but its paid off a couple times

Agreed, corals can also be out of water for quite some time without dying.

I do a lot of fragging and the bowl of water the frags are in cools down quite a lot, also the frags sit out in the open while the glue hardens and I never have a problem as there is usually polyp extension the next day. corals are much hardier than we give them credit for. Temp acclimation really has nothing to do with it. You need to do some kinda drip so that you have a pH and SG acclimation, those are the areas that will cause problems not temperature. I float the bags, (so I guess i'm temp acclimating as well) then add some tank water to the bag, give it 10 minutes and then some more water and thats it. Granted some corals I simply toss in the tank, but some of the rarer exotic items, I take no chances with
