ive got a month old 24g aquapod in my room and i think i am allergic to it :( my whole room has smelled like a wet dog for about a week now, and my sinuses have been clogged up the whole time, eyes watering.. it sucks!
i have about 15 lbs of live rock, a blue damsel, a perc clown, a small pulsing xenia, cleaner shrimp and some hermit crabs.. there is a lot of brown diatom stuff in the tank but i think it is finally starting to clear up
the smell is horrible and im not going to be able to keep the tank if it stays like this much longer! any ideas?
again.. it is not the smell of rot or dying things.. wet dog is the best way i can describe it

add some activated carbon to the filter and it will remove the smell if its from your tank. Could be a humidity problem in your room causing mold spores though.

Its the tank IMO. If the tank is in a small room, water evaporates and creates mold. IMO you should move it to the living/family room or a much larger room than where it is right now. All my reef tanks and terrarium is in the family/living room ,the family/living room is 500 square feet. My FW planted tank is in the kitchen.
