Why Does My Sump Stink?

My wet dry's sump smells like dead fish. I can see a film of slime or something in there. Anybody know why its like that? Should I get a DSB and put my cheato in there along with a cheap home depot light? I have the bio balls and big pieces of foam still in there, Should I take them out?

Rinse/squeeze your foam. It gets hella nasty. Wet/dry media like bio-balls may need to be cleaned from time to time also, although I don't use wet dry so I dunno. If you do clean them you would only want to do a few a week or you will wipe out your bacteria.
