why does my water look bluish green and unclear

i just set up my aquarium 4 days ago. During that time i added new washed coral sand and then i added tap water to the whole tank. After that i conditioned the water with conditioner and then added the instant ocean salt. it was foggy then and i assumed it was because of the sand and it will settle down when i come back from a couple days later with a protein skimmer running. EVen though the water did get some what clearer...the water looks very blue and greenish...does anyone know what is wrong and how i can make the water crystall clear...thanks

not sure why the blue, but it might have something to do with using tap water. Down the road you might have additional diatom blooms b/c you didnt use RO/DI water.

Do you have lights on the tank? Is the color possibly from your lights? Do you have something on the back of the tank? or are you looking through to the wall...is the wall colored? Just a few things to consider. Good Luck
