I was in the market for a new camera, something mid-range. Narrowed it down to one, the Panasonic Lumix FZ35/38. Had a hell of a time figuring out what the difference in models was for... Then I found it...
The FZ38 is the European version of the FZ35. What needs to be different about it? Depending on the size of your SD card, the camera can take over 30 minutes of HD video. The problem is that cameras that take more then 30 minutes of continuous video, are classified as camcorders in Europe, and are subject to different (read higher) taxes... (And as such, the FZ38 limits a single video to 29m59s, where the FZ35 will fill your sd card)
Had to put the mouse down and walk away for a second, to allow that one to sink in....
