Why is my blue damsel building a cave?

I have 2 blue damsels. One of them is taking chunks of sand and moving them away from behind a small rock and then swifting the sand away from the spot too.

maybe they decided to mate up?? but fish are weird so who knows???

DEFAME??? I had one bite the blood out of a friend of mine when she put her hand into the tank to adjust a rock. They are very territorial.

here we go giving them free food and relatively little chance of being eaten by a larger fish and they bite us over a rock.

my clown does that too.

If they bread expect them to become even more territorial. I love damsels. They are great fish.
