Why is my blue hippo black?

I was wondering if anyone has any idea why my hippo tang turned this color. He eats great and is active. He has plenty of room to swim around. He is about 3" long, and started turning this color about a month ago. Any ideas would be appreciated.(don't mind the micro bubbles, I am tracking down a leak)

I have no idea why he turned that color but its pretty cool and unique looking. I hope its not a health issue.

How many gallons is the tank?
