I have a polyp coral with only 15 polyps and it keeps falling to the tank floor a night. Last night i woke up and it was on the ground! It has happend for 2 nights now. When I look at the coral i find no bite marks or anything. What is cousing this.
I have 1 blue tang, 1 clownfish, 1 sixline wrasse, 1 brittle star, 1 horseshoe crab, and a cleaner shrimp. My corals are a poly coral (subject of thread) and 3 inch red mushrrom coral.
Please help im getting tired of getting my hand sallty.

probably the clown hosting it at night and if it's not secure he can knock it over. Really that goes for any fish or cleaners.

Yeah I find that if I do not secure very well my snails and hermits will push almost anything over!

I would watch your clown and your clean-up crew...
If my hermits don't manage to knock my corals loose, my clown usually manages to flip it off its place

My clowns cuddle with my rocks, powerheads, feather duster, and my frag of zoas at different times. Just depends on their mood I guess. I'd put money on that clown. You can secure it with aquarium putty or epoxy or you can move it to a different location.

my bristle star is the culprit in my tank he likes to hug the smaller rocks and when he does it knocks them loose especially the smallest ones

I got that idea from the observation that a safe estimate would be to say at least 75% of the members of this forum have some sort of clean-up crew in their tank(s), often including hermit crabs.

my guess is the horseshoe crab they are notorious for knocking things off. you could try to attach the rock with a marine epoxy or glue to keep it from falling.
on a side note did you know that the horseshoe crab is a bad idea in a tank gets very large and can be detrimental to the sand bed.

Yeah, horseshoe crabs can grow to about the size of a volleyball...
And also, marine epoxy! Put it on the bottom of the rock the polyps are on and squish it down on the live rock.
