Why is my new trigger hiding?

My new picasso trigger ,got him Friday, he has been hiding in the rocks. He will come out during morning feeding and about an hour at night. He is the smallest fish in the tank now. Is this normal. he is eating well and seems healthy.

He is a juvi, only about 2'' I also have a volitan lion, porky puffer and an eibli angel. He is starting to come out more, about 2 1/2 hours last night before lights out.
