Why is my tank so loud?

I have a 10 gallon wet dry filter and lately its been driving me crazy because its so loud. I dont think it was this loud when I set it up? Anyone have any ideas on how to quiet the system?

A little more info would be helpful. What sort of overflow do you have? Can you figure out where exactly the noise is coming from?

The majority of the noise comes from the water going into the back of the overflow box. I noticed when I move the filter in the back of the overflow where the water goes into the wet dry it will reduce the noise depending on how I move it then when I leave it alone it gets loud again. Its hard to explain hope this helps.

itd help to know what kind of filtration you have. if ur using a trickle on a 10g i might suggest moving to a hooded biowheel, more maintenance but quiet.

Are you useing an overflow box?
I had to move the tube coming from the overflow around until I found a good spot that didn't make much noise!

A Stockman standpipe will reduce the noise you get from an overflow box draining.
