give him time to acclimate, but until then, try to wedge him in between a couple rocks gently

How long has it been in your tank? If you just put it in, give it time...

its not used to your light cycle and is thinking it's in a bad area. try keeping your lights on and forming a protective cave around it to prevent a lot of water moving it around.
and btw, the thing will amost NEVER stay where you put it. don't squish it's foot.

np. i lost one bta for about 1.5 months, got a second one and it went to the back of my tank. then the first bta showed up again when i had turned off my lights to kill off some cyano and it needed lights. then i got both of them to park in the front of my tank by protecting their feet from too much current.
they haven't moved in about a month.
