Earlier this evening I had my lights off and I turned them on when the room was dark. There were these big bugs along the sides of the tank, about 5 or so, and they were huge. About half the size of a dime, but i think thats big for something like that, that i didn't put in the tank. They look kind of like pill/potato bugs. Any thoughts on what they are. Are they bad? Thanks for any input.

If they are semi transparent, they are a type of Pod, not copepods, they are more flea size...
If its pods, be happy........They usually come on, and live in LR...

Sound like isopods or amphipods, either are good pods to have.
