Hi, my friend has a Blue Tang that has ich. He is covered and is being trated with hypo. He isnt on these forums so he asked me to ask this for him. He noticed that his Blue Tang is only breathing with he left gill. He right gill doesnt move. he is breathing fine, just a little heavy from the ich. Any suggestions?

They are telling you to go to that forum.
The parasite ick isn't fatal to a fish under normal or controled circumstances. Ick gets into the gills and suffocates the fish and that's what usually kills it. Your friends tang sounds like it may be real close to death.
While treating the fish make sure that the water is properly aerated with as much surface agitation as possible! Make sure the ambient air is as fresh as possible also. You want this fish to get as much oxygen as you can provide, while treating it.

You must watch PH closely as you do hyposalinity. I would also test for amm levels and do frequent wc's on the QT.

He is breathing normal now (I just got back from his house). but he just found out that his other butterfly just died! It is a pearlescale. I think it was from ich and he thinks it is from the hypo....

Hypo is not as easy to do as it sounds. As mentioned you have to watch PH and other levels very closely and lowering the SG of the water very slowly taking days to get it down low enough for it not to shock the fish and raiseing it just as slowly as well. Keeping alk and cal stable under the situations so PH stays stable is very difficult if not done right. Many people dont do it right or know how and often end up killing the fish and most think it was the ick. could be but maybe it was the poorly done hypo treatment.
