This was what I was afraid of. I flew alone and would leave at 6am and arrive at my destination 2am the following morning. Many plane stops and many layovers. Being a small girl, I felt a little vulnerable as well. With a low dose of x.anax, you are alert when you want to be, you take a nappy when ya want to, and you never feel physically nervous.
I was the first flight into Texas after a hurricane. The ride was rough... the flight attendants were sitting. I was not one bit nervous while people were grabbing the chairs with white knuckles. I could see the fear everywhere, but could not feel it. I actually enjoyed the beauty of the storm outside.
I swear, being fear free for all those flights... I'm TOTALLY over my fear. It's really weird. Now, I'm sure that I flew so often helped, because I now recognize the "normal" sounds of flying and the "normal" events, but it would be a huge hurdle for you to get over if it actually keeps you away from enjoying cool places.
