Will a tank cycle without fish in it?

I set up a 29 gallon QT and I seeded some of the substrate from my main tank and put some of the water from my main tank with new saltwater. I had a few fish in the QT but the ammonia was to high so I put them back in the display tank. Will the tank continue to cycle without fish in it?

Yes it should. by putting the gravel and water you should have boosted the bio system. I would put a piece of live rock in there too STEVE

I would continue to put a tiny bit of food (empty or not) in the tank each day too.
