Will a sterilizer clean ich off fish... or will it at least prevent it from spreading more? Then kill it when it is free floating in the water after it drops off?

No, afraid not. Would be nice if it did, though. UV's have some "preventative" quality, but it is by no mean fullproof and it certainly won't cure an actual infestation.
Hyposalinity is the best choice for curing ich.

Yeah, I didnt think so. I just am going to have a grand old time catching all of my fish out of an Oceanic 200 reef. It won't be easy. But, hypo was the way I always went with my aggressives. They just were easy to catch.
Now, the ich seems to have jumped off the fish. Does that mean it is in the sand bed procreating? Because I know there are three stages, sand bed, free floating while looking for a host, and on the host.
So, any suggestions now?
