Will Acans work under PC's?

This site used to tell you what kind of light is recommended but now it doesn't. How strong of lighting do they need?

I would say it depends more on the light/tank size combo, than just a simple yes. but most likely if your keeping any other corals alive under them, the acans should do just fine under your power compacts. they have the added benifit of being voracious organismal feeders and can be fed. which they greatly appreciate.

When I had acans, they did well at the bottom of my tank. I had halides and compacts.

Just keep in mind that color morphing can occur under any light from PC to Halide to LED. What you purchase color wise may not be what eventually lives in your particular tank.

I agree! My acans definitely have changed color from PC lighting, then T5, now MH. I bought purple acans that turned green under MH's and red/gray ugly acans that are now rainbow colored due to the MH. I will say that all of mine except one small colony are doing better under MH lighting, even though they're at the bottom of the tank.
I think more importantly than lighting is feeding, acans like to eat!
