Today i picked up a 125 RR for a price i couldnt pass up, I will be storing it for a year or two till i move out. Will the silicone dry out, crack and leak if the tank is left unfilled for a long period of time? or is there anything i can put on the silicone to keep it from drying out.

it doesn't dry out, however over time it does loose a little of it's sticky properties. When you move the tank again in a year, be very careful. By the way, you can not put new silicone on top of old silicone and expect it to stick and form a seal. If you are going to resilicone the tank, you have to scrape everything and get it all sealed back up. Shouldn't take but maybe 48 hours to complete.

My tank set for almost 5 years empty and it has been up and running for over 2 months now with no problems. It stayed 2 years in a shed outside but I would recomend keeping it inside at room tempurature. It is a 150 so you should be fine.
