Will Flame Angel eat tree sponge?

I would like to add a Flame Angel as the last fish in a peaceful tank. I've read on this site that they like sponge in their diet. I have several tree sponges in my tank amidst lots of live rock. Will the Flame Angel actually eat the tree sponges or are there other types of sponge that they would eat?

Most angels eat sponges, so there is a very good chance that the flame angel will nip at all of your sponges.

Are there other small Angelfish where this won't be a problem? And will they be ok with a Heniochus, 2 Klein's Butterflies and a few Chromis since the Angel is being added last?

Any angel is a big risk in a reef tank. I have a cherub and he picks at everything (rocks, sand, glass) all day. Some people manage to keep angels in their reef tanks and say that they do not bother anything. It depends on the individal fish. It is a gamble though. One coral beauty may pick all day while another of the same breed may leave things alone. It is up to you if you want to try it out.
As far as the angel getting along with your other fish, it will be fine.

Bluefin's aren't a good choice, either. Mine has been picking at the kenya's and zoas since he returned to the DT a week ago. It hadn't bothered any of the coral before I put it in QT. I may have to get rid of it. I just bought a flame, but can't say if it's a picker yet. It's going in the new nano when he's done QTing.

My angle nips at the rocks but never touchs any of my corals/inverts. Got a sponge rock and so far hasn't touched the sponges, but it's like Sep said just depends on the individual fish.
