Will live Sand Benefit my Tank?

I am getting new carpet in my house so I have to move my 110g to the basement for about 1 week or so. My question is #1 would it be benefical for me to buy live sand when I set my tank back up? I have had my tank running for 2years now, I have crushed coral mixed with garfs grunge on the bottom. Lots of live Rock, Corals, hermit crabs and snails. Obvousley there is life in this crushed coral. I would like to either clean it out of all the stuff that has settled, or possibly get some live sand? #2 What method should I use to clean out the crap at the bottom

I have already drained all the water, did it last night. I have all the live rock, corals, fish, and various ocean life seperated out in the basement in in containers with water flow, heaters and what not. I plan on moving the tank to the basement this morning and refilling most of the water that came out of it so I dont shock everything. My carpet should be in in a couple of days and then I will have to move it back upstairs (1 floor closer this time) and thats when I was going to add the live sand. Any suggestions on how much sand I should get, my tank is a 110 g tall, so its like 4 ft tall or something. What is the best sand to use and where should I get it?
