Will Lobsters kill...

Other community fish? In a 55 gallon.
And will the lobsters hide all day and remain unactive?

trust me owner of one for a month or so now.. the only time you see him is if you pickup his rock.. I'm looking a fish to make a dinner out of him.. ticks me off that I paid good money for him and he might as well not even be in the tank..

I have a shy tropical lobster (E. debelius) who hides his pretty red/purple carapace when the lights are on, but is fun to watch with a flashlight. I imagine that with aggressive feeders he'd be snatched up during one of these latenight shows, but as long as I feed him he hasn't bothered any of the fishes, which I image would be easy considering the small blue damselfish who sleeps in a cave. I think he has eaten a cleaner shrimp and several hermits, plus many bristleworms, amphipods and other desirable critters. I've had him for about 2 years.
VERY shy but cool nonetheless...I figure in 20 more years or so he'll be ready for eating!

Do you think lobsters are sociable? Because when I go lobstering for Florida Lobster, I alwayes find them in small familyes of 5-20.
This makes me think mabe they will be more active if they have friends

yes they do kill other fish. I have a 30 gal freshwater with a crab and lobster in it and they have eaten 4 neons and 2 guppies but they dont mess with the larger fish, but i dont know about the saltwater lobster.

I had a spendid lobster for about 2 years in my fish only 125. He was very active..But beware they will prey on fish that lie on the bottom. I had, (Had being the key word here), a really nice dragon wrasse. He liked to bury himself as many wrasses do. The lobster did get him..Also never put them in with triggers..etc...My lobster finally just died one night.....
