Will Long Nose Hawkfish Jump?

I have a long nose hawkfish in a reef tank. I would like to remove the canopy permanently (for various reasons). Will he jump out of the tank?

From what i've heard, any fish if spooked or stressed could jump out of a tank. I sure hope you dont have a cat either they will either fall in or wait for an opportunity to catch one of those little guys.

I want to remove the lid because there is only about 1 inch of space between the surface of the water and the glass lid. My Oxygen levels are very low and I think part of the problem is that there is not enough room for gas exchange. I think the 1 inch space above the water is probably filled with CO2. Removing the lid would help, I think.
Also, I'm planning on getting a metal halide light and would like to hang it from the ceiling over the tank. The lid would get in the way, build up heat, and block some of the light from entering the tank. My LFS is a big advocate of lidless aquariums.
Hmmm... I do have a cat. Do you really think it would fall in an open tank?

Let's put it this way I have do glass lids on the tank, one on either side. My cat stepped on the left one it moved and his leg went in along with that lid. I was PO'd but it wasn't bad. I don't know about yours but my cat is very curious and wants to know about everything. <img src="graemlins//evilwhorn.gif" border="0" alt="[Evil Horn]" />
