Will Maracyn II hurt live rock? Is it best for tail/fin rot

The workers at the lfs didn't seem to know which direction to point me in...
I have an 80 gallon tank and it seems as if my coral beauty has tail/ fin rot and also i have a hippo tang that is not eating very well. Maracyn II says it treats both of these so at this point i'm wondering if.........
A) Should I treat entire tank with the possibility that my other fish could be sick also. It would be very exspensive.... Would it hurt the 50lbs of live ro ck that I have ? ? None of the rock seems to be doing anything wonderful at this point due to the fact that I have poor lighting. Nothing else live in the tank besides the sand rock and fish.
B) Set up ten gallon hospital tank that I have and try to gather the hippo and the corral beautly up to treat in it?
Thanks in advance...

Maracyn-Two is a broad-spectrum antibiotic (minocycline) developed for use in aquariums. Due to its unique properties, it is absorbed by the fish through the skin. During the prescribed treatment, the concentration of Maracyn-Two in the fish fluids rises to a therapeutic level and available to fight systemic infections susceptible to its action. It is primarily effective against gram-negative pathogenic organisms. Internal diseases are more difficult to detect than external ones and early detection is almost impossible. Symptoms of clamped fins, general listlessness, not eating or other unusual behavior can be caused by internal infections. All suspected bacterial infections should be treated immediately.
Nitrobacter and Nitrosomonas are widely recognized as the primary beneficial bacteria present in the biological filtration system of every aquarium. Some drug, which treat fish disease are harmful to these "good" bacteria. When the biological filter is upset, there is a build-up of ammonia and nitrite concentrations, resulting in fish distress and sometimes death. Mardel products have been tested with known strains of these bacteria with no adverse effects noted. When used as directed, they do not interfere with the biological filter.
NOTE: In heavily stocked aquariums, it is important to actively monitor ammonia and nitrite levels because during treatment, fish may excrete more waste materials. After treatment, it is always beneficial to add a boost to the biological filter with the use of a bacterial additive.
That being said it is always better to treat in a QT

That's what I said

Be sure to have a power head in the quarantine tank. This medication depletes the oxygen in the water. I would set up something larger than a ten gallon if the tang is larger than a few inches.
