So does anyone think Martha will ever see a real prison sentence?

I don't think she needs to see a prison. Waste of time. If anybody else did what she did it would have been no big deal. Fine her royally, then you'll get her attention.

A lot of other people who have done what she did, are in prison. This isn't just because it's her. Most people convicted of four counts (including conspiracy, obstruction, and lying to federal investigators) DO see a prison, not just the famous ones go to trial and prison for this. This isn't about getting her attention, it's about punishing her for a crime, and letting her go with a fine wouldn't be on par with recent sentences for similar crimes. This has nothing to do with celebrity, she's just getting more attention for it.
That's how the system works, doesn't matter if you own an empire or not, do the crime, and she's doing the time.

unfortunately, she will more than likely not see the inside of a cell. She has too much money for the likes of that happening.
However, I very stongly feel that she SHOULD be put away for the maximum time possible. Not because of her crimes are that severe, but because of how she has treated people in her life . . . karma is a B@!#$ and what goes around comes around.

I think this Fed judge will have no choice but to give her SOME
time. Not all of it, but some. What would his excuse be not to give it to her. Everyone else with these crimes have recvd it.

Hey,
Martha and Pete Rose would make a good couple don't you think? If both of them would have just admitted to what they had done and taken their medice at the time it would all be over with. But nooooooooo...... They have to deny everything even with the proof smacking them right in the face. They both have gotten into more trouble by denying everything than for their original crime.

that will probably be the only way she would avoid jail time is if she admits her guilt.
LOL....they would make a great couple

Publicity wise is not making a difference to the trial. Hell i bet the judge is loving it but it's making no matter in jail time or not. I tihnk she will get it although she will go to court again to try to avoid it. THe reason people think it's only ahppening to her is because she is famous and u don't get to see all the other morons out there with this much TV PRIME.

If your broker told you that a company's officers were selling thier you cant tell me that you wouldnt? I would. Its the brokers fault for devaulging that information. Martha was just being human with the goal of preserving her money. If you want to get pissed at someone for really breaking the law, we should be going after those A-holes from Enron and the other huge CEO thiefs. They literally stole 100's of millions from innocent investors. The Government is facing pressure to put some of these people away and I'm just afraid that martha will be the one to be made an example out of. She is the least of a criminal out of the others that have been exposed for their crooked ways over the past couple of years.

well first off, she's not getting busted so much for her investment tactics but more for lying to the feds when questioned about it. that's not really the smartest of decisions.
2nd, they ARE going after the enron a-holes.
and 3rd, investors are anything but innocent. anyone who's ever invested can remember all of the disclaimers that you sign informing you that you're partaking in risks and can lose everything.

Regarding corporate greed. Anyone read Berkshire Hathoways' shareholder report? Good ol' Warren gave a nice little write up on it. I love his "rant" in each report.

9 out of 10 politicians make more illegal money than she did, and yet nothing happens to them and nobody goes "Yeah, give her life in prison, that *****" People need to do some reading before jumping on martha, not defending her, but this goes on multiple times daily, she just happened to get caught.
