I just found out last week that what was sold to me as a bta is actually a lta. Anyway, twice now my orange linckia has fallen off the glass and onto the anemone and the anemone quickly closes in around it. If I'm not their to rescue the star will the anemone eat it?
Also, when I see people mentioning carpet anemones is this the same thing as a lta?

I have had a star and and LTA for a few years and nothing has happened.. the star just gets right back up and back on the glass or rock.
Maybe Ophiura will stop in.
Look on the left side of SWF.coms web page under inverts.....look at the carpet and then long tenacle anemone. You will see the diff.

I've never heard of an anemone eating a star. However, I wouldn't be suprised if it happens if you have a tiny star and big anemone together.
Carpet anemones are more sensative to the water conditions and need much more light (halides minimum IMO) than LTAs.
