They are very good at escaping from even small openings. Be sure the tank is well sealed. Glass covers are good. Use a fine mesh on any small open areas and make sure it is secured well. IME, the eel will be less likely to try to get out if it is comfortable in it's home. Be sure to have a good amount of rock work for the eel to burrow under to make a den. It will spend most of it's time there.
Do you know what to feed it and how often?

ive had one get from my tank into my wet dry before so they are very good at escaping so just keep everything covered and closed up also as far as feeding you can do alot of things like silversides, mysis shrimp, squid, so on, so yea and next time get info on it before you buy its just easier that way any other questions?
