hey all i just setup my 400w metal halides, and wantedto put some nice vho actinics in..i just got it done last night and it didnt seem like it did very much as far as brightening things up. i do not have reflectors above them, will that make a huge difference if i put an individual reflector above each bulb? i have 2. the back of vho bulbs are not clear like the front so i didnt know if it would help much.

VHOs have a built in reflector in the bulb. You have to make sure you face them the right way. Extra reflectors will do nothing to help.
From tank level up....are the vho's below the halides or above them? If you have them a little lower than the MH bulbs they are a little more visible.

i didnt think the reflector would help, i will try and move them down a few inches, they are about even with the halides or 1/2 inch up. i will try and move them down a bit as far as i can without them being in the way when i open the canopy up. they are prolly 10 inches to a foot up from the water right now.
