Will SLF crabs work in my tank

It would probably be OK, but based on your signature, you may have other problems. You may want to really think about those horseshoe crabs. They will destroy a living sandbed and, as they get older they will be huge. A 45 gallon tank would not be enough room for 1 of those guys. They will also knock everything over in your tank. Also, a 45 is too small in most folks' opinions on this board for a tang. They need a lot of room to swim. Lack of space causes stress in tangs and is probably one of the primary causes of ick. These are just suggestions.

sally lightfooted crab, I hope that was the right abbreviation. I know about tangs and this 1 is a juvi and will be upgrading tank in 1 year. He has enough rock work to entertain him with all the caves and crevices. I also have a friend who would take the tang if he becomes to big for my tank if I don't have the new tank ready. As for the horseshoe crabs, they dont mess with the rockwork which is stable and the dsb is not affected by them as they only go down a inch in the sand. My critters have not dwindled since adding them 3 mo ago. I also feed them directly with shrimp pellets. When they get to big, again in a new tank or friends. The do keep the top sandbed clean.
