 :help:
Please Help!
I don't have a camera to post pictures so I will try to describe.
There are little tiny worm like creatures in my tank. On the glass mostly although I did see one spiralling around the water like a tornado...They are NOT bristtle worms because I know what they look like.
They look like a type of inch worm, they don't move like one but look like a thin cream/white color worm.
I don't know if I have had them and never noticed them or
just noticed now because there are no fish in my tank or
they just came out because there are no fish in my tank to eat them or
they are looking for my fish too eat!
My fish died from an unknown illness (poss Velvet), All except 2 that are in the Q Tank..........
Could these have been part of the Illness ?
Could I be paranoid and they were there all along and I never noticed because the fish ate them ??
Thanks in advance to anyone that has a clue or has experienced this problem!:

I think I know what you are talking about, I have had them in my freshwater tank before. Most likely they are harmless and come from over feeding. But if there a lot of them they can get in the fish's gills and cause problems.

Thank you for the reply.
There does not seem to be a lot but there could be more than I noticed. I was worried about them getting into the fishes gills.
Do you know a good way to get rid of them ???
What about Hypo ? I have no fish in there now? Well, I guess that wouldn't work if you had them in your freshwater tank ( Duh)...
Thanks again for the reply, I will try not to worry about them........
Does anyone have an idea on how to get rid of them ???:notsure:
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.......

if it is what i had in my fw i did a 50% water change and that took care of it but I don't know if it's a good idea to do anything like that in a sw. It isn't exactly good for fw either but i didn't know what else to do about it.
If you think it is safe you could do a partial water but nowhere near 50%
Sorry I couldn't be of more help

IMO, these wormlike creatures are unlikely to be harmful. In fact they are more likely to be beneficial. Fortunately almost none of the many creatures that comes along with live rock are pathogens.
I wouldn't do anything at all right now. When you begin to add new fish I would only get concerned if the new ones died off right away also.

hello.
I also have these in my tank that I have just recently set up. IMO they are harmless no matter how many of them are in there. They are floating all around my tank, so bad that the water looks kind of cloudy. However my two triggers are showing no signs of stress. These little organisms will most likely just grow to get big enough to get sucked up by the filter. If you wanted to you could use a UV Sterilizer, but I wouldnt worry about it. They have been like this for a week in my tank, no signs of any problems.:)
