Will this be enough flow?

I have a 55g, and am wondering if a nano Koralia (240gph) in the middle and a maxi-jet 1200 (295 gph each) in each back corner be enough flow for a reef. I am planning on keeping sps, lps, softies, and clams. I currently have a 170ghp powerhead pushing water up into a powerfilter (The pump that came with it didn't work
), and was planning on using this for mixing saltwater and curing live rock, but can use it if nessesary, as it will be avalible after I upgrade to a sump.

i'd say u r a bit under flow. sps needs lots of flow. maxijet tends to blow out direct flow. i like the koralia better since their flow is more wide spread. get at least a koralia 2 along with another powerhead. i hv 2 koralia #4 in my 72 reef w sps.

yeah you might need more flow. i just put the koralia nano in my 29 gallon biocube and its not even close to enough flow

Ok, so I found this powerhead called a "power sweep", and the nozzle automatically moves back and forth, will one of these in the middle and a koralia #3 on each side be ok?

I don't know, it just says "power sweep". Do you have a pic of yours? If so I will tell you if it is the same.

Don't get a powersweep, they are big and ugly and stop sweeping, I use mine to mix saltwater. I would say a couple koralias #3. I have a #2 in my 33 gallon long and it's great flow for my lps and softies, sps would need a lot more though.

I seond th epowersweep no no. I was convince it will be good and now it jsut sits in my bucket mixxing my new saltwater. It does not even have enough flow to move much around. Money no twell spent I am telling you.
Buy the Koralias #3 and even a #4

Will 2x850 gph be enough? I will have the flow from nmy sump to, but that will only be about 250-300 gph.

instead of buying koralias I would go with the algae free sure flow kits as well. I have a koralia 4 and it doesn't even compare to the sure flow mod as far as performance. I have a 240 gallon reef tank and I have two maxi jet 1200's with the sure flow kits. I decided to buy one more kit because I was so impressed. I recieved my third mod kit yesterday and just for something to do I put it on a maxi jet 400 (which is worthless) and I think the performance is equal to the Koralia 4! Make sure you get the magnet mounts with the mod kits. I'm actually thinking about taking one of them out of my tank because the flow is absolutly ubsurd. The algae free sure flow kits install in 2 seconds and best of all are cheap($14.99)

Powersweeps get a bad rap. IME the largest ones will quit sweeping in short order and cleaning wont help. There is a little metal pin in them that fits too loosely and falls out into your sandbed. This can easily be fixed,I broke the end off a plastic toothpic and superglued it into the hole, problem solved. I dont use it anymore however because it is quite ugly. The smaller 2 models of the powersweep work wonderfully, their design provides a pin which is constructed as part of the wheel and cant fall out. I have two of them in my frag tank, they do however require consistant cleaning. Ive found when they first stop sweeping tapping on the outlet will generally get them going again, eventually however they must be removed, taken apart and cleaned out good.
As far as flow goes,I have a 55 with 2-K2's,1-K1,a MJ1200 hitting the glass and a MJ1200 blowing behind my rock across the back. I think I would suggest a K-3 on either end with a K-2 in the middle and a MJ across the back.
