Yah that was my plan before, but my buddy gave me the idea to use the fixture omy my blacklight as a light. The color temp is around 10k, which is what is used for corals, which is why I was curious to see if it would work.

Ok, sounds good. The only problem is I won't have the extra money for some time. I guess I prob shouldn't be buying any corals anyways if I have no money.
Start my new job in 2 days though, so after I pay off my debt I'm good to go. Hopefully by feb or at least early march I'll have a coral or two.
I didn't think I wanted any that bad, but my tank needs more things. My clown fish need something in there with them except the one bristleworm haha.

Even at almost 10000k temperature color, the corals will still lack a lot of "pop" and will most likely loose much of their color.

ahh ok. I might get a bulb (they're cheap) and get a small frag of coral and see what happens. The store near me (well 100 kilometers away :p) sells frags fort about 15.00 so it wouldn't be a major loss.
I will also have to get myself a CUC...
