will this gunk up my tank?

ive been messing around with this leather ive had that was not doing well and the last few days it has started turning white and kinda melting away so i finally said screw it and decided to throw it out but i wanted to save the rock it was attached to because it had some zoas on it . so i peeled as much of the leather off as i could but theres still some remnants i cant get off. if i put it back in my tank will it get rotten and nasty or should i just leave it in the fish holder that i have it in right now?

Depends on the size of the tank, smaller the tank the bigger the impact -- get as much as you can get off but you should probably be alright unless it's a really small tank IMO.

i would get as much off as possible. but i would think that your clean up crew would find the remains and eat it up.
or
pending on the size of the rock, chip the remains off the rock.it will leave a little blank spot on the rock but in a short amount of time coroline alge with grow over it.

ok guys thanks. loopy101 where are you in wisconsin? i used to live near dodgeville. have you ever heard of the Beowulf summer party in Darlington? You look kinda familiar.

well, i stuck the rock back in my tank. i guess we'll see what happens. loopy, i moved to tennessee 10 years ago but still go to wis every few years to visit friends and family. Beowulf is a bike club that throws a summer party in June at the fairgrounds in darlington(or they used to,havent been to one since i moved) and i really miss them. Miss Wisconsin too, but only in the summertime.Do not miss shoveling my car out of the snow to go to work and then coming home to my driveway plowed shut!
