No, this unit needs water pressure to operate correctly and the outflow of your skimmer cannot be restricted or it will not operate correctly.

this guy said the exit flow was too fast anyways and even restricted it himself.

He restriced the intake not the output, if you restrict the output the water level will rise in the foam tower causing the skimmer to stop producing foam or overflow.

Ahhhh ok I guess I will have to go get a powerhead. I was wishing but I dont want any leaks so I better not risk it.
