will this light work over my tank

i just bought a 48in 300w mh with 160w atinic light with 6 moon light would that be enough light over a 120g. demsion are 60+18+24. i have the light over a 55g and have the 120g and might be setting the light over it if its enough light. i want to be able to keepanyhting under it.

i would say no...people told me i could keep anything over over my 90 gallon with two 250W of MH. 500 total and thats not over kill.

Is your light a retro kit? Does it have just one MH fixture or two? If it has two bulbs/ fixtures then yes you would be ok, but if it only has one you would have to get a second fixture to be cool.

It'll be ok to use, but you should keep any SPS corals up high directly under the halides.

i dont know what a retro kit is. all the lights are in one light fixture. it is 2 150w mh with 4 atintic lights and 6 moon lights all put in one fixture.

Throw up a pic but sounds like you have an enclosed fixture....fyi so that you know retro kits are simply universal commonly used for screwing into canopies opposed to using the legs that come with sealed fixtures
this is a retro.... get the idea?
