I have a 90 gallon tank that I am going to convert to a reef. I will be upgrading my 2 40 watt NO lights to an icecap 660 running 4 48" VHO lights. I have a couple of questions if anyone can help.
1. Currently I have to add about 1 gallon of replacement water a week as my NO lights are only on 6 hours a night. What can I expect with the icecap and 4 VHO lights. I have heard the icecap makes the lights cooler, but I'm not sure.
2. Where would you mount the icecap ballast, under the hood or inside the cabinet.
3. Would you actually use VHO for all the lights or would you use a combination of VHO and PC.
4. Will I need a canopy fan with this setup or is the icecap ballast cool enough where it won't raise the temperature of my tank.
5. I will using a retro kit and my canopy does not have a reflector. Do I need a reflector or should I just buy lights that have the reflector built in.
That's all my questions for right now, but I may have more later.
Thanks,
Tangman
