will this shorten my cycle?

I have a 3 yr. old 12 gal. Aquapod.
I was wondering if I took some LR from there and used my cycled water from the 12 gal if it would shorten my cycle?
I would have to buy the LS so I'm not sure how that would work.
Or would i just be better off to start from scratch with new water, LR, LS and a raw shrimp?
I forgot to mention I just ordered a 6 gal. BioCube.

using established rock will help seed, yes. using dirty water no not really
the roick will introduce the bacteria and allow it to spread through its natural life cycle. using "old water" will just add broken down pollutants and not really be a benifit
