Will this work?

Im thinking of starting a straight up coral propagation tank. Can I literaly just have water, a pump, a filter, lights, a heater, and JUST corals? Do i need to have sand, LR ect? Or even a clean up crew since i just have corals?

no you dont need sand or live rock but im sure it helps with biological filtration
and a clean up crew to clean up the algae so maybe a few snails.
