I want to hang 2 48 inch glo t5 units over a 48x24x8 frag tank. The lights would be about 10 inches to a foot over the tank. I believe it will be 2x54 actinics and 2x54 watt of some other bulbs. Do you think it won't be enough light for sps?

depends on the bulbs u will be using. the glo units share one reflector, or at least thats what i remember, so i would say that u should hang it lower. maybe 6-8" from the top of the water

It should work. Depth isn't that great might not be sufficient for high light SPS though if you mount higher than 12" above tank

what bulbs do you recommend? I guess 6 to 8 would be more realistic but i was just saying about a foot max.

since its a frag tank, id do 2 ati blue+, 1 kz fiji purple, 1 ati aquablue special

less light demanding sps would do ok, but not the more demanding ones. 4 bulbs over a 48 long by 24 width tank isnt enought to cover the whole tank.

I was thinking maybe sps in the middle and less demanding things toward the edges. I think it might just be worth going the extra 40 and getting a nicer unit online. Ill post the details tmrw
