wiring diagram

I just bought the 400 watt matal halid pulse start ballast from universal lighting tech. and i was wondering if anyone had a better wiring diagram for it.. i checked there website and was unable to find one.

actually I figured it out.... still confused on the ground... no place to wire it.. would connecting it to a screw and screwing it to a piece of particla board on the ground be fine?

the ground has to be part of the loop thru the electrical system
if you ground thru the electrical box that will be the way to do it

The ground should go to the metal case of the ballast. And the metal case of the ballast should be connected to the house ground through the plug. Any metal cased component must be grounded. This will cause any shorts to the case to short to ground, vice short to you.

I'm not that electrically inclined. my ballast has no where for the ground from the powercord. so i was figuring i would wire it to a screw that is screwing down the ballast...
suggestions appreciated!!! :confused:

That will do the job just as long as the paint (if any) is scraped away a little where the screw will be contacting with the case and wire.
Make sure it gets good contact, and you're golden.
