Hello all, Happy New year. I have two fish tanks (actually 3, wasnt counting my QT!) up and running. I have a 19 gallon bowfront that had fish and coral in it. It had metal halides that starting having issues, and I couldnt get the lights to come on consistently. I ended up moving the coral into my 75/90 gallon tank that has t5 lighting. I still have the 3 fish in the 19 gallon (2 clowns and a goby). My other tank is fishless, except for 2 brittle stars. I am thinking of taking down the 19 gallon, seems a bit of a waste right now to have it up. My question, after that long story! is the 19 gallon has a live sand bed, the 75/90 gallon has crushed coral. (I know, crushed coral, blah, but it was established when I got it and it has sooooooo my copes and tiny white brittle stars that I couldnt possibley get rid of it!). Can I mix the sand from the 19 into the 75/90 gallon and combine the crushed coral with the sand? Its only about 15lbs of sand in the 19 if that. Thanks and sorry for the long winded explaination! Oh and the 75/90 is a reef tank with a fair amount of coral.

I heard someone thinking of doing this a while back and the suggestion was not to. Especially in your case such little sand would do nothing and it would get spread out thinly on the bottom so I imagine it would be more of a pain than any benefit it would do.
