50W Titanium Heater with Controller by Won Brothers
I'm thinking on getting two for my 75 gallon reef ready tank.
Has anyone used these before how do they work?

First off, two 50 watt heaters would be too small for a 75 reef. I'd suggest (2) 150w heaters.
As for the Wons, what I like and what I don't like...
What I like:
Titanium is hard as nails, no worries about fish breaking them
Temperature controller being separate makes changing temp easy
The ones with digital readouts double as a thermometer
Titanium shell of heater is grounded, so you get grounding rod function as well
Electronic controls are less likely to stick "ON" than "OFF" (sticking off is safer, IMO)
What I don't like:
Horror stories about about these things. I have Wons on 3 tanks and Jagers on 3. I am slowly phasing out my wons to Jagers over fear of disaster
While they are less likely to stick "ON" than mechanical heaters, they are WAY more likely to stick "OFF" (I.E. stop working). I've had two go out on me in this way. Never had one stick "ON" and cook my fish though.

I totally agree with every point that SCSI made.
Wow, you really covered that well.

I dont like them either even though i had 2 and they stuck off thank god. I purchased one from aqua medic you can get a seperat controller for it but the only thing i didnt like aboout it was it didnt keep a memory so if the popwer went off it would go back to factory defaults. So i plugged it into my reefkeeper2 and is beautiful.
