This is an unfortunate part of the hobby, but a rather unsettling amount of Butterflyfish that are routinely available, such as that Meyeri, that have 0% chance of living in a home aquarium (and I strongly stand by that). For clarification, from my understanding after conversation with SWF, SWF does not 'order' these fish, but is at the mercy of their vendor, who sends a "bulk shipment" of fish that happens to include these guys. It's not that SWF orders X amount of clowns, X clowns, etc. They get what they get sent to them.
I personally tried to keep a Meyeri and failed as well. I exactly don't have problem with people who want to try and keep these fish, as long as they plan on doing something that they think might lead to success, that hasn't been tried before. Squirting a bunch of enriched brine/mysis into the face of a Meyeri, would consist of 'something tried before.' So would the promise of "just buying a $15 SPS frag for him to eat every week."
