Checked with Mike, he called it turf algae - not sure what that means - but he did say I needed to scrap it off for the zoas to grow
. Anyway the original frag was a 3 polyp frag for $100.00. Since we split the cost 10 ways, it cost each of us $10.00 + shipping (seems like we may have actually paid a little more than that - can't remember for sure). According to the agreement what we were supposed to get was a 3 polyp frag, as you can see I did way better than that. The original agreement was that they would then be available to any other SWF members at that same cost if they were then grown out and offered for sale; however, since we are no longer allowed to sell or trade on the board, it kind of renders that part of the agreement null and void

that's what i wanted you to be sure of. if you let it grow in your tank it can get bad

Red turf algae can get bad fast! Mexican Turbo snails have been known to take care of it. Randy you have an e-mail.

red turf can be nasty. scraping it off may not be as easy as it sounds. it is some of the toughest stuff i have come across. only thing i have seen eat them are fresh, hungry and indiscriminant Mexican Turbos. Bob Fenner helped me with that.

yea, instead of trying to scrape the turf algae off, i'd remove the zoos and throw out the plug

Excellent article Henry - thank you -
. Will remove the plug right away, and check to make sure nothing else has the turf algae on it. Thanks alix2.0, saltnoob, spanko, and Renogaw for the input - appreciate it very much
. Obviously, I still have lots to learn in this hobby.
