World Trade Center Freedom Tower

Snapped these pics as I drove past the tower about 2 weeks ago. Not done yet, but its already the tallest building in NYC

I've seen the video before. Very cool but not the same as seeing the new tower become a fixture of the new NYC skyline!

WOW that's so awesome! I didn't even know that they started building already. Extremely impressive to say the least.

Took them almost 10 years to get started but they are cranking along now.

Yeah, a lot of material to clear out of there and a lot of provisions to make on the ground floor before they could even get started. I'm glad that they are building a new one now. 2015 sounds so far off... lol
I guess they will start working on the second tower when the first one is completed...

It was politics more than anything else that delayed the start. They are only building the one huge tower and a few smaller buildings along with the memorial that stands where one of the original towers stood

Shoulda built two. :/ oh well.
But it's amazing how fast things got moving once they finally agreed on it.

The new World Trade Center complex is going to look awesome. I can't imagine a better way to have done it.
