worm wiggling violently

i saw a worm that was about a cm long, it was white with a gray head and tail. it had hairs along the whole body. it swam onto the glass near my flashlight. then it attached on end and shook the other end violently.
is this normal?
does anyone know what it is?

I believe it is a mysis shrimp, if so then yes that was normal. They are attracted to light and swim rather violently.
