You read about bulb life expectantcy. The bulbs still produce light.....so what makes them bad? Is it a change in optimal spectrum or intensity. I know that a worn out bulb can lead to an algae bloom but why?
CHange in spectrum and loss of intensity. As far as algae blooms I've heard it suggested that it is caused by increase in infrared output from the old lamps.
